Church Missions

First Baptist Church is a “missions-minded congregation. We are officially registered as an “Acts 1:8 congregation” which means we commit ourselves to be on mission locally, in our state, in our nation, and around the world. Recent mission endeavors include a summer lunch program at a local housing development, mission trips to Galveston, Texas, Arlington, Texas, New York City, and New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition to those, we have sent mission teams to Steertown, Jamaica for the past several years.

This year, students grade 7-12 will be doing mission work in Sulphur Springs and high school students will be serving in Guatemala!

Everyone is invited to become a part of our mission efforts. Requirements are simply a compassion for people and willingness to get out of your “comfort zone” for a little while.

We also support a local food bank, and a ministry in the Phillipines.

In addition to this, we receive offerings every Christmas for world-wide missions through the International Board of the Southern Baptist convention

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
